How do I set up artwork for a folded leaflet?
Supply your folded leaflet as one PDF with two pages: the outside of the flat sheet as page 1 and the inside as page 2. Set each page to the full flat (unfolded) size plus bleed.
Getting the panels in the right place
The panels are not in reading order on the flat sheet. On a roll fold, for example, the outside of the sheet carries the inside flap, the back and the front cover, left to right. The easiest way to get it right:
- Take a sheet of paper and fold it the way the leaflet will fold.
- Write “front”, “back” and the panel numbers on it.
- Unfold it and copy the positions into your layout.
Use the folded leaflet template on the product page: it marks the panels and folds for you.
Bleed and safe zones
- Add our standard 3mm of bleed around the whole flat sheet, not around each panel. Some products differ, so check the product page.
- Keep text and logos at least 5mm from the trim and away from every fold.
- On a gate fold, the two door panels meet in the middle when closed. Keep important content away from that meeting edge too.
If you only have single pages
Send what you have. Arranging single pages into a folded layout is an artwork fix, which we agree with you before doing anything. See How much does it cost to have my artwork fixed or set up?
