Which paper and finish should I choose for business cards?
A 350gsm silk card with matt lamination is a common all-round choice: firm, smart and hard-wearing. Choose 450gsm if you want a noticeably thicker card, and uncoated if people will write on it.
Our standard business card is 85 x 55mm.
The stocks and finishes below are examples from our range. The product page is the authority on what is offered, because ranges change.
Premium Classic Business Cards
| Choice | Options |
|---|---|
| Card | 350gsm or 450gsm silk |
| Finish | Matt, gloss or soft-touch lamination, or none |
| Sides | Single or double-sided |
| Corners | Square or rounded |
- 350gsm is firm card and the usual weight for a business card.
- 450gsm is thicker and stiffer. People notice the difference when they are handed one.
- Lamination protects the card in wallets and pockets. See matt, gloss or soft-touch.
- No lamination leaves the natural feel of the silk card.
Uncoated Business Cards
Uncoated cards have no coating or laminate, so they are easy to write on and stamp. That makes them the right choice for appointment cards and loyalty cards.

| Brown Kraft |
| 300gsm Natural Uncoated |
| 300gsm Textured Uncoated |
| 350gsm Recycled Uncoated |
Colours print softer and more muted on uncoated card than on silk. On brown kraft, the colour of the card shows through the ink, so designs with strong, dark colours work best.
Other ranges
We also offer Creative, Recycled and Metallic Foil business cards. The stocks and finishes for each are on the business cards page.
