How do I put up and look after a roller banner?
A roller banner (also called a pull-up banner) stores its graphic inside the base and pulls up onto a pole. It takes a minute to put up.
Putting it up
- Lay the base on the floor and fold out its feet.
- Assemble the pole: the sections slot or click together.
- Put the pole into the hole in the base.
- Holding the top bar, pull the banner up slowly and evenly. Don’t let go part-way.
- Hook the top bar onto the top of the pole.
Taking it down
- Hold the top bar, lift it off the pole and let the banner roll back down slowly, guiding it all the way. If it is released and snaps back, the graphic can crease or the spring can be damaged.
- Take out the pole and fold it up.
- Fold in the feet and put everything in the bag.
Looking after it
- Keep it dry. If it gets damp, let it dry fully before rolling it up.
- Don’t leave it in direct sun or a hot car for long periods.
- Store it in its bag, lying flat or standing upright.
- Wipe the print gently with a damp cloth if needed; no solvents.
Setting up the artwork
Most of the banner’s bottom section is hidden inside the base when it is up. Keep text and logos out of the bottom area; the hidden area is marked on the roller banner template on the product page. See also What resolution do I need for banners, posters and boards?
